Doro - Rock 'n' Roll Christmas Party

Doro – Rock ‘n’ Roll Christmas Party (EP Review)

Doro 2024

With over four decades behind her, Doro Pesch remains as inspired, active, and energized as ever before. A force of nature, just in the past few years, the Metal Goddess released the Triumph And Agony Live in 2021 ( a live album celebrating the 35th anniversary of the classic Warlock album), the blistering new studio album Conqueress – Forever Strong and Proud in 2023, and just recently in September put out cool CD box set surrounding the 2007 EP Anthems For The Champion.

Looking at this new release for a moment, back in 2007 Doro put together a collection of songs that were used for German female boxing champion Regina Halmich. A great gesture of support for Doro’s good friend, now in 2024 you can own an expanded edition of the EP in a box set that features a pair of mini boxing gloves for a car mirror and a snap hook with the Doro logo. Very cool, it is worth looking at the set before it is sold out and it could even be a great option as a Christmas gift for a Metal-loving friend. Speaking of Christmas, Doro is getting into the spirit with her new two-track single called Rock ‘n’ Roll Christmas Party.

Set to hit on November 22, 2024 through Rare Diamonds, it will not only be a digital release but also be offered in a 7″ green colored vinyl. Co-written by Doro and Beyond the Black’s Stefan Herkenhoff, “Rock ‘n’ Roll Christmas Party” is a fun-loving track that will put you in high spirits and ready to share the holiday season with loved ones. Featuring solid guitars and a pumped-up vocal performance from Doro, it is a great burst of Christmas cheer for those who like it a bit heavier.

A special treat from Doro, the new song is coupled with 2001’s “I Adore You.” Originally a B-side to Doro’s rendition of Billy Idol’s “White Wedding,” “I Adore You” is a rare gem that hopefully gets more attention as a bonus here.

So, if you are a sucker for Christmas time and Doro, you are going to love Rock ‘n’ Roll Christmas Party. Wrap it up and put a bow on it, because Cryptic Rock gives it 4.5 out of 5 stars.
