HBO’s It: Welcome to Derry premiered its fifth episode Neibolt Street on November 23, 2025, at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT, adding another wrinkle to the It franchise and the Pennywise saga.
Coming with a ton of anticipation, thanks in part to the return of Bill Skarsgård reappearing as Pennywise, Neibolt Street keeps the series’ momentum going in Derry. As one would expect, Neibolt Street focuses on the well house and its role in the story. At the same time, Major Hanlon (Adepo) questions General Shaw (Remar) about the “weapon” being sought. This is while Charlotte (Paige) is trying to advocate for Grogan’s innocence, even though the town and its people have a different plan. Rose (Guerrero) is talking about “The Galloo” with the elders of the tribe and what their plans are for the military and the investigation that is upon them and their land. Roses’ nephew Taniel (Odjick) is still locked up on the base, hoping to find the weapon himself. The mistress of Hank Grogan is finally unveiled.

With the adults trying aimlessly to get their lives and the lives of the people in Derry in order, the children are coming up with ideas of their own. Lilly (Stack) is determined more than ever to prove she is not crazy and that Grogan is innocent. Ronnie (Christine) has not only become determined but has also solidified her role in the club. Marge (Lawler) is trying to figure out what happened to her and why she wanted to harm herself. A surprise visitor makes their appearance in Derry and really throws the audience for a loop, and takes them to the underground mazes that make up Derry’s sewer system.

Overall, Neibolt Street shows the audience how Pennywise and his mind games influence everyone who comes to Derry. Child or adult alike, they are all susceptible to the dancing clowns’ magic. Writer Brad Caleb Kane does a fantastic job of getting the story back to its origins… back to the tunnels and the well house. Joining him, Andrew Bernstein does an exceptional job of giving the story life and returning to the theatrics that make It so good.

In truth, the audience never knows what or who will meet them below the well house or in the sewers of Derry, where not only the filth gets to the people but the malevolence as well. Where a whisper is something to be worried about, where a shadow is feared, and ancient magic is respected. Making it a week full of anxiety waiting for Episode 6 (In the Name of the Father) to premiere on Sunday, November 30, 2025, Cryptic Rock gives Neibolt Street 5 out of 5 stars.
