Black Needle Noise with Attasalina Premiere Video For “Messages By Dreams”

Most famously known for his list of production works through the years, John Fryer’s reputation proceeds him. Helping shape the sounds of some artist’s most memorable albums, including Nine Inch Nails’ 1989 Pretty Hate Machine, HIM’s 2000 Razorblade Romance, Depeche Mode’s 1981 Speak & Spell, among countless others, Fryer is also a performing musician, as one of the two constant members of This Mortal Coil. Recently launching a new musical project, Black Needle Noise, Fryer is diving into a whole new territory musically.

Offering fans new music consistently over the last year, Fryer’s latest collaboration with Vocalist Attasalina, exclusively premieres their new video for the track “Messages By Dreams” on CrypticRock. Check out the stunning visual piece below:

Attasalina, a unique singer in her own right, has worked with the likes of many including  Daniel Ash (Love & Rockets, Bauhaus, Tones on Tail), so teaming up with Fryer seems like a matched made in heaven. When asked about how the collaboration between the two, Fryer stated, “It was another of those happy accidents that have happened all through my life. I was checking into the Capri hotel in Ojai and Attasalina just happened to be in the lobby with all her belongings and lots of photos in frames as she was moving up state. She is a photographer as well as a singer. We 1st got talking about her photos and then singing. We stayed in contact and later I asked her if she would like to sing a song for BNN and happily she said yes.

A happy accident that turned into a compelling track, the music video by Tyler McCourtney featuring Freed From Rage and Sorrow Photographs by Attasalina, making for a dark and mesmerizing watch. When asked about what inspired the music itself, Fryer elaborate, “Mainly life and Sounds are the inspiration and driving force behind all the musical soundscapes of BNN. Trying to create beautiful feelings through the music that will wash over you and transport you to another dimension with your own mind and body. As if you are living with in your own movie.” Pretty spot on, it will be exciting to see what the creative producer/musician will come up with next for Black Needle Noise.
