Hed PE made their way through to The Drunk Horse Pub in Fayetteville, North Carolina Saturday September 21st. Having established themselves with nearly 2 decades making music Hed PE has built a solid fan base in that time. With 7 full length albums to their credit, the band is set to release The Best Of Hed PE October 1st via Suburban Noize. Jared Gomes (vocals), Mawk (bass), and DJ Product © 1969 (turntables), original members have kept the unique sound of Hed PE alive since 1994. Starting the evening out was California based band Better Left Unsaid. The band provided great energy and performance was well received by those in attendance.
A great turn out of fans showed up at The Drunk Horse Pub for what would prove to be an energetic performance by Hed PE. It was clear that Gomes and company fed off the crowd’s energy which raised the intensity of their delivery. There were points during their set where mosh pits broke out and fans were stage diving much to the pleasure of the band. Nothing gets a band going more than seeing fans completely into the music. The crowd chanted “Hed PE” loudly from time to time yearning for more of the band’s unique blend of metal, rock, punk, and hip hop. Gomes engaged the crowd with his always entertaining trash talking and no fear of speaking his mind approach.
Overall this was a spectacular and fun show. The energy level of the crowd was equally matched by the band. Hed PE still prove to be a relevant band all these years later and continue to impress dedicated fans.
