Releasing their latest album, Lifehunger, in late 2018, Norway’s Vreid look to continue their reign with a return to the North American market this spring. Their first visit this side of the Atlantic in 6 long years, they are teaming up with Finland’s Kalmah for a collection of shows that kick off on April 17th down in Dallas, Texas. With a list of stops along the way, including a sold out affair on April 20th out in Los Angeles, California, compounding the celebration, Vreid exclusively premiere their latest video for the track “One Hundred Years” today via Cryptic Rock magazine. A lyric video, and the work of talented Filmmaker Håvard Nesbø, the intensity of “One Hundred Years” is brought to life in all its frigged glory with magnificent imagery. When asked about the vision and concept behind the song/video, Bassist/Songwriter Hváll stated, “To me, ‘One Hundred Years’ is the strongest song in our bands history. It’s a song that captures the essence and multitude of Vreid. It’s a song that we will guaranteed play in all our concerts. ‘One Hundred Years’ was inspired by a poem by the great Norwegian Author Knut Hamsun. This lit a torch that resulted in this song about the everlasting duality of nature and human nature. The video is done by Håvard Nesbø, with spectacular filming of the dramatic and inspiring scenery and history of my beloved Vestlandet (western Norway). An eternal source to inspiration. He visualized the song beyond what I could have imagined.”
Now, let us all hope that Hváll is true to his word and the song is in fact featured a part of the setlist of Vreid’s long overdue return to North American soil. It is an experience Black-n-Roll fans will not want to miss!
