Fast rising LA based rocker Diamante has released a video of her cover of the iconic Nirvana track “Smells Like Teen Spirit”. As a well rounded individual Diamante proves her influence runs deep even at 17 years old. She told Revolt Magazine in an interview ” ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ is the best track to connect those who don’t know me yet to something familiar. This cover is my own token of mad respect for Kurt Cobain and Nirvana.”

A cover shouldn’t simply be a recreation of the song that sounds essentially the same. An artists takes the song and creates soemthing new that represents them. For example Lana Del Rey’s cover of Heart Shaped Box.
In addition, doesn’t anyone find it weird or at least ironic that a self described LA rocker would cover the band that killed an entire scene and genre?
