Found Footage films gained popularity in 1999 with the massive hit The Blair Witch Project. Since then, many films have followed, and the genre has given the world greats like 2015’s Hell House LLC and The Visit. Kristina Lee Halliwell Collins, better known as (@KallMeKris), sheds new light on Found Footage with her directorial debut, House on Eden.
Set to release through RLJE Films and Shudder in theaters on July 25, 2025, House on Eden tells the story of three paranormal friends who look for the supernatural but end up with more than they bargained for.

As a reference, Kris is known for her short skits, reaction videos, and was also a hairdresser for the hit series Riverdale. Kris shot to fame in April of 2020 after her brother convinced her to start posting on TikTok. Meanwhile, Celina Myers, best known as (@CelinaSpookyBoo), began her career in 2014 with The Haunted Estate Podcast. However, she has been a social media influencer long before the podcast was launched. These two social media sensations have collaborated to create this new Found Footage film.
Unique to other Found Footage films, House on Eden is intended to be a Horror film with a touch of comedic relief interspersed throughout. Alongside the two is Jason-Christopher Mayer, known more for his incredibly impressive editing and directing skills, as seen in 2012’s Nobody Gets Out Alive and The Bay series.

With that said, House on Eden is not your typical, “it’s an evil witch and the house is haunted, we all know how this thing ends” kind of film. Rather than sit in complete expectancy, one might find oneself saying, “What is going on here?” The story certainly takes that turn of events that most are partial to and turns it into something completely different.
A great collaboration; Kris Collins and Celina Myers could not have come together for anything better… maybe? (Hint, Hint). These two together will have the audience laughing and shaking their heads in shame while also on the edge of their seats. Even the famed paranormal investigators, Sam and Colby, make an appearance. Needless to say, the film’s stars are fantastic.

Overall, House on Eden is quite interesting, thanks to its diverse range of camera styles and editing choices. These are both unique and make the film stand out, courtesy of yours truly, Mayers. Matched with two amazingly talented women, the unsuspected turn of events and the intriguing visual aesthetics, if you will, make House on Eden a must-see. Highly recommended for catching in theaters, Cryptic Rock gives House on Eden 5 out of 5 stars.
