Favorite Movies Revealed: Liv Jagrell of Liv Sin & Sister Sin

Sister Sin 2015 Mayhem Festival

While we often try to boil someone’s personality down into a few characteristics, chances are that there are truly few merely one-dimensional people. Most people out there have many nuances in who they are, with different opinions and diverse tastes in music and film. For example, Sweden’s Liv Jagrell has been known as an unstoppable force with a powerful, demanding voice and mounds of energy that make her an undisputed leading lady in Rock-n-Roll.

Distinguishing herself as the leader of Sister Sin, the band would grab much attention around the European scene before pouring over into the North American market. Topping the Swedish Rock/Metal Charts with their 2012 album Now and Forever, in 2014, they put out Black Lotus. Then, a year later, they found themselves on the 2015 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival bill, turning on even more listeners.

However, Sister Sin would not be the only vehicle for Jagrell because she had more to express outside the band, which was perhaps more Heavy Metal than hard rock. With that said, she explored this side of herself when launching the new band Liv Sin in 2016 to critical acclaim. Two sides of a very intense leading lady of Rock-n-Roll music, Liv Sin has become a source of creativity for Jagrell with the release of three albums between 2017’s Follow Me and 2023’s KaliYuga; however, Sister Sin waits in the background as an endeavor that is not entirely dead.

Keeping her options open and realizing that various aspects drive her, Jagrell continues to surprise everyone, and there is simply no telling what will come next. In fact, there is rumbling that Liv Sin has completed the work of what will be their fourth album, with a pending release date coming in the summer of 2025. Something to look out for: how many know that Jagrell is a highly sensitive individual with a broad taste in cinema? Someone who finds inspiration in stories of life, relationships, and overcoming, the Rock Queen recently took some time to reveal some of her favorite movies.
