Roadrunner Records recording group Black Stone Cherry have released “Me and Mary Jane,” the first single from their upcoming fourth studio album, Magic Mountain. The album will be released May 6th with pre-orders being announced shortly. “Me and Mary Jane” is available for streaming on the Roadrunner Records Official YouTube Page as well as for purchase on iTunes. Check it out here on CrypticRock.
Bassist Jon Lawhon says of the new album, “A lot of rock music today doesn’t have any soul. It’s all really bland. There’s no attitude. There’s no heart. We all grew up on ‘70s rock, Southern rock, country music and bluesmen like Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters. On this album, more so than ever, those elements are all in the forefront.”
Produced by Joe Barresi (Queens of the Stone Age, Soundgarden), “MAGIC MOUNTAIN” sees the band continuing to master their sound which has earned them legions of fans around the world, with sales now in excess of 650,000. In the UK, Black Stone Cherry have proven a phenomenon, topping the Rock Albums chart with both 2008’s “FOLKLORE AND SUPERSTITION” and 2011’s “BETWEEN THE DEVIL & THE DEEP BLUE SEA” receiving silver sales certification from the BPI (British Phonographic Industry).
